Personal Performance regularly delivers innovative teacher development programmes. These have included:
Hands-on Teaching as Teacher Development
This is an on-going project. A Personal Performance team member teaches classes with their class teacher present and participating. Session plans are developed with the teachers. These programmes have two aims - to develop literacy and creativity for the pupils and to develop teachers' skills. As a result of these programmes literacy levels have been raised; teachers find this method of skills training highly desirable.
At this time we are also able to offer this in Mathematics and Drama.

Courses for NQTs on Delivering Mathematics (and other subjects)
This is a new programme developed within Handsworth, Birmingham. Schools sponsored NQTs to attend 6 one-day practical sessions on delivering Maths at KS1 and 2. Newly qualified teachers (who probably aren't Maths specialists) feel invigorated by the course and feel much more confident in teaching the subject imaginatively.
Participants feed back each week on ideas they've tried out and share new experiences and resources... confirming that our ideas work in the classroom.
This course was so successful in 2008 we are preparing a similar Teacher Development course in Literacy and Creative Writing.
One Day Primary Staff Training on using Class Readers to enrich teaching
Teachers often find it difficult to teach in the round.
This course was developed at the request of a particular school. We read a range of the school's class reading books and demonstrated during the day how they could be used as a focus for a wide range of teaching. Subjects covered both technical and creative parts of English as well as other curriculum areas.
Tailoring Courses for You
We have a wide range of teaching experience at all levels and ages. We can encompass a wide range of subjects including:
- Mathematics
- English and Creative Writing
- Drama
- Music
- Art and Photography
- PSHEE including Sexual Health and Education
- Problem Solving and open-ended thinking.

Particular programmes can be developed around other subjects including computing, history, and science and technology.
